The studio will be closed from July 3 to July 21 and reopen July 24 in the new location — 229 Williamsburg Square near Owensboro Christian Church — offering all the same services of custom jewelry design, in house repairs and more.
Owners Kim and Tommy Rhinerson opened Lodan Jewelry Design Studio in 2006 and have been in the same location since.
“The move is so we can focus more on custom designs,” Kim said.
Tommy, a third-generation jeweler, said that custom designs and specialty pieces are what the jewelry industry has been gravitating towards in recent years.
“People want something as unique as they are,” Tommy said.
The Rhinersons also noted that the benefit of working with a local, custom jeweler over other in-person and online retailers is a personal connection and sense of assurance that your jewelry is being handled with care.
Lodan Jewelry Design Studio is also a part of a larger network that includes 24,000 local jewelers across the country.
“We’re all mom and pops,” Tommy said. “If I have a customer and they’re moving to Tennessee or Arkansas, I can get a hold of someone who can help them take care of their jewelry once they move.”
